Honest pricing. In plain dollars.
This page explains how we charge — what the free tier includes, what each paid tier costs, how we handle billing cycles, and how to cancel. The goal is to make the price math obvious before you hand over a card.

Our pricing principles
We made four explicit choices about how to charge for ResumesTailor. Each one shows up on the pricing page, but they’re easier to evaluate when they’re named.
1. The free tier requires no credit card
You can sign up, build a resume, tailor it to five job postings per month, host a portfolio, and download unlimited PDF and DOCX files without entering payment information. The free tier exists because most of our users will be between jobs when they find us — asking for a card before showing the product feels wrong for that context.
The free tier refreshes its five monthly tailoring credits on the first of each month. They don’t accumulate (no “50 credits saved up over 10 months”) and they don’t cap as a lifetime allowance — you simply get five per month for as long as you use the free plan.
2. Paid tiers bill monthly or annually — not weekly
Our paid plans bill on a monthly cycle (approximately every 30 days, 12 times per year) or annually (once per year with a 20% discount). We don’t use 4-week billing cycles, weekly billing, or introductory rates that convert to different recurring prices after a trial period.
The price you see when you click “Start Pro” is the price your card is charged on every renewal date. No conversion math required.
3. PDF + DOCX downloads stay free
You can build a resume on the free tier and download it as a PDF or DOCX without upgrading. We don’t paywall file exports. The paid tiers add capacity (unlimited tailoring, multiple portfolios, more referral contacts), not gated access to your own work.
4. Cancellation takes two clicks
Account settings → Cancel subscription. The cancellation stops the next billing cycle; you keep paid-tier access through the end of the current period. No retention flow, no “are you sure” chain, no email loop with a support agent trying to talk you out of it.
What each tier costs (US T1)
- Free — $0 forever. 5 AI tailors/month, unlimited resumes, unlimited cover letters, 1 portfolio page, unlimited PDF/DOCX downloads. No credit card.
- Starter — $3.99/month (annual: $29, ~$2.42/mo effective). 100 AI tailors/month plus unlimited resumes, unlimited cover letters, 1 portfolio, and the browser extension. No referral contacts.
- Pro — $6.99/month (annual: $59, ~$4.92/mo effective). Everything in Starter, bumped to 250 AI tailors/month, plus the referral contact finder: search hiring managers by name + title, reveal verified emails, generate AI outreach drafts.
- Pro+ — $16.99/month (annual: $139, ~$11.58/mo effective). Everything in Pro, bumped to 1000 AI tailors/month, plus higher referral lookup quotas (100/mo) and unlimited portfolios.
Regional PPP pricing applies for users in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Egypt, Argentina, and several other countries — the local rate is honored at checkout when your billing address matches.

If you’re cancelling a different resume tool
The resume-builder category uses several pricing models. If you’re a paid subscriber to one of the other tools and trying to cancel, here are the cancellation paths that are publicly documented as of mid-2026. We’re sharing them as a service — they’re not endorsements or critiques of any specific competitor, just the published steps to manage your account.

If our pricing model is the reason you’re here
You don’t need to leave another tool to try ours. Sign up free, build a resume, tailor it to a job posting, and see how the workflow feels. If the free tier covers your needs, that’s genuinely fine — we’re not running a trial timer that converts to a paid plan. Start free →
Frequently asked questions
Is the free tier actually free?
Yes. No credit card required. No time-limited trial. The free plan includes unlimited resumes and cover letters, 5 AI tailoring runs per month (refreshing on the first of each month), 1 portfolio page, and unlimited PDF + DOCX downloads. We make money when users choose to upgrade to a paid tier — not by limiting the free tier into uselessness.
What do paid tiers cost?
Three paid tiers, billed monthly or annually. Starter is $3.99/month ($29 annual, ~$2.42/mo effective). Pro is $6.99/month ($59 annual, ~$4.92/mo effective). Pro+ is $16.99/month ($139 annual, ~$11.58/mo effective). Annual plans save roughly 30%. There is no introductory rate that converts to a different recurring price — what you see at signup is what you pay every billing cycle. Regional PPP pricing is honored at checkout when your billing address matches.
Is billing monthly or weekly?
Monthly. Each billing period is approximately 30 days; you're billed 12 times per year, not 13. We don't use 4-week billing cycles. Annual plans are billed once per year.
How do I cancel my ResumesTailor subscription?
Two clicks from your account settings. The cancellation stops the next billing cycle; the current period stays active until it ends. No phone call, no email loop, no retention agent.
What's your refund policy?
If something doesn't work as advertised in the first 14 days, email support@resumestailor.com and we'll refund the most recent charge. We don't auto-refund partial months when you cancel mid-cycle (the existing paid period is yours to use), but we don't fight legitimate requests either.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account and resumes remain accessible on the free tier after cancellation. You don't lose data — you just lose access to paid features (unlimited tailoring, portfolio analytics, additional referral contacts). If you delete the account entirely, all data is removed within 30 days per our privacy policy.
Why flat pricing instead of tiered usage?
Most of our growth is word-of-mouth, so we don't need to fund acquisition through aggressive pricing. We charge what the product costs to run plus enough to keep the lights on, in plain monthly dollars, so the math is easy to evaluate before you subscribe.
