Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of our Terms of Service. It tells you what you must not do on ResumesTailor (the “Service”). We keep it short and concrete so the rules are clear.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP (Section 14 of the Terms). We may also report criminal violations to the appropriate authorities and cooperate with their investigations.
1. Prohibited content
You must not use the Service to create, store, share or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic, or invades anyone’s privacy.
- Harasses, threatens, stalks, bullies or intimidates any person.
- Promotes or incites violence, terrorism, self-harm, or hatred against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristic.
- Sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way.
- Infringes the intellectual-property rights, trade-secret rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or contractual rights of others.
- Contains malware, viruses, trojans, ransomware, exploits, or any code designed to disrupt or damage software, hardware or networks.
- Falsely represents your identity, qualifications, affiliations or employment history in a way that would constitute fraud or material misrepresentation in your jurisdiction.
- Discloses personal data about other people without a lawful basis (for example, listing a recommender without their consent).
2. Prohibited behaviours
You must not:
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications (spam) or to phish.
- Use the Service to apply for jobs through hiring platforms whose terms prohibit automated or AI-generated applications, in a way that violates those platforms’ rules.
- Submit, generate or transmit content with the intent to deceive an employer or recruiter about your qualifications.
- Use the Service for unauthorized commercial purposes (resell, sub-licence, or white-label the Service without our written consent).
- Impersonate any person, organization, or government, or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Engage in any practice that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure or causes the Service to malfunction.
3. Security and platform integrity
You must not:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or any related infrastructure, except in accordance with a coordinated disclosure to support@resumestailor.com.
- Bypass, disable, or attempt to circumvent any rate limit, quota, security mechanism, access control, or feature gate.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, computer system, or network connected to the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the experience of other users (e.g., denial-of-service attempts, attempts to overload our queues).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except to the limited extent permitted by applicable law.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices (including copyright and trademark notices) on the Service or in materials we provide.
4. Automated access and scraping
- Automated access is allowed only through API tokens you have issued to yourself from Settings, used within published rate limits, and subject to these Terms.
- You must not crawl, scrape, mirror or frame the Service or extract data from it using any automated means outside our API.
- You must not train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning model on data extracted from the Service or on AI outputs produced by the Service in a way intended to develop a competing product.
5. AI-specific rules
- Do not submit prompts intended to extract our system prompts, jailbreak the model, or otherwise subvert AI safety measures.
- Do not use AI features to generate content that violates Google’s Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy (we are required to enforce this as a Gemini API customer).
- Do not generate content that impersonates a real, identifiable person without their permission.
- Do not use AI features to produce sexually explicit content, deepfake material, or content that depicts identifiable individuals in compromising contexts.
- Do not represent AI-generated content as human-produced in contexts where doing so would breach disclosure obligations (e.g., regulated academic or professional contexts).
6. Bookmarklet and extension
Our bookmarklet and extension extract publicly visible job-description text from third-party websites that you visit. You must:
- Use them only on sites where you are entitled to view the content (i.e., your own browsing session, no bypassing of paywalls or access controls).
- Respect the terms of service of the third-party site, including any prohibition on automated extraction.
- Not use the bookmarklet or extension to extract content from sites where doing so would breach a contractual obligation you have with the site.
7. Reporting violations
If you believe a user is violating this AUP, please report it to support@resumestailor.com with the subject line “AUP violation”. Include any relevant URLs, account identifiers, screenshots, and a brief description.
8. Enforcement
We investigate suspected violations and take action ranging from warning, to content removal, to feature suspension, to account termination, depending on the severity of the violation and the user’s history. We may also pursue any legal remedies available to us.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP when new types of misuse appear or when the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app.
